YONAH CRAFT Supplies: Pattern and instructions One 9 x 12 piece of felt Polyester fiberfill Two google eyes Scissors Hot glue gun Glue sticks 1) To avoid movement while cutting, tack pattern page to top of felt sheet, lining up the bottom of the felt with the bottom of the pattern page. 2) Cut pieces from felt. Be sure to extend your cut of pattern piece B to the end of the felt so it will be 12 inches long. 3) Lay A flat on surface. 4) Glue B to A at the "TAIL" end. 5) Fold B back, referring to the "fold" line in pattern piece. 6) Take C and glue the flat side of it to A, starting with the tapered end at the fold and working towards what will be the front of the whale. 7) Glue the top side of C to B, again starting at the taper and working toward the curve, but stop at the curve. 8) Take D and glue the flat side of it to A, starting with the tapered end at the fold and working towards what will be the front of the whale. 9) Glue the top side of D to B, again starting at the taper and working toward the curve, but stop at the curve. 10) In the opening between A and B, fill the body of the whale with stuffing. 11) Glue the rest of C to B around the curve. 12) Glue the rest of D to B around the curve. 13) Overlap B onto A at the front and glue it in place. 14) Glue F pieces (fins) to the E piece, referring to the pattern for placement. 15) Glue the edges of E to the bottom of the whale, and leave the front open for the pocket. 16) Glue the eyes on each side of the whale. 17) Cut Yonah and color if needed and your craft is complete. To make Yonah stiffer, you could glue him to a piece of stiff cardboard, or laminate him.
