Bantam A1633 Three Witnesses FAIR
Three Witnesses
By Rex Stout
Our favorite overstuffed detective deserts his orchids, his beer, and his almost equally overstuffed chair long
enoughee Witnesses to untangle three fascinating puzzles:
-
THE NEXT WITNESS
- - was Nero Wolfe himself! A telephone answering service has been exposed as a setup for blackmail, and Wolfe will expose the killer from the witness stand!
-
WHEN A MAN MURDERS
Archie almost gets caught by the cops with the corpse of a recently deceased millionaire. When the corpse keeps coming back to life, it's a question whether it is worth more dead than alive?
-
DIE LIKE A DOG
- - but it didn't. The black Labrador retriever lived, to bear witness in a murder case!
All three were originally published in American Magazine in 1954 and 1955.
First Bantam printing, 1957. Cover is clean but well-used. There are crinkles at the upper right corner, along the bottom, and in the center of the right edge. In addition there is an irregular, rather ugly reading crease. Spine is shredded at the top (taped). Bottom left corner is split. Pages are tan. Binding is flexible but intact.
